Ear Prominence

Prominent ears most commonly describe ears that protrude too much from the head, one or both sides to varying degrees. Other features that can be present include a lack of the outer fold of the ear (antihelical fold) or overly large ears (macrotia).

These conditions can be present at birth or can become apparent during childhood or can develop following ear injuries.

These various conditions are treated surgically procedure known as Otoplasty. This surgery is highly individualized to each patient.
