Condition

Forehead Lines

Contractions of the forehead muscle called the frontalis every time we raise the eyebrows will cause horizonal movement lines on the forehead. Its critical to know this muscle is not only responsible for raising the eyebrows but is important in mainitaing your eyebrow position, if your natural eyebrow position is low (Brow Ptosis).

Over time, with repeated contractions and skin ageing changes, these movement lines may well become permanent (static lines). This is more likely if we smoke or expose our skin excessively to the sun. Static lines can be softened with a dermal filler such as Juvederm Volbella.

These lines can be treated effectively with BTA and this can prevent static lines (etched in lines) from occurring. Its important to be aware that this is not always possible is you have a naturally low eyebrow position as inappropriate BTA treatment of the foreahed can cause heaviness and the eyebrow position to move lower, which is not desirable.
