The Consultation Philosophy

Your consultation with Dr Rory is your time to connect with him and understand his treatment philosophies. He also wants you to benefit from his extensive training, experience and evidence based aesthetic medical and surgical advice.

Fundamentally, he wants you to be able to express your aesthetic concerns openly in an unrushed, stress free and secure environment. This allows for an open discussion and also a time to get to know one another. It also requires complete honesty about previous treatments.

For this reason, all new patients are respectfully asked to arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to your consultation time so that the registration process is unrushed and you have time to compose yourself. More importantly, it is to allow for your precious consultation time to be maximised and gives you time for all your questions to be answered.

Dr Rory is known for his gentle and unique bedside manner along with his personal and very compassionate approach to all patients.

He takes time to listen, to understand and is honest. In a marketplace that is over commercialised and focused on profiteering he prides himself on not performing unnecessary treatments and often declines patient requests explaining why certain expensive treatments are not indicated or not evidence based.

Through this approach Dr Rory has developed a large following of loyal patients who often bring friends as well as family for combined consultations.

He has a conservative realist, with a less is more approach. He focuses on making you the best version of yourself and does not want you to look unnatural in any way.

Finally, you must bear in mind, your whole consultation is about focusing on realistic expectations and being aware of all aspects of your patient journey. A well informed patient is a happy patient. It is critical to know about what can be achieved and the process of achieving this, including the risks, before any treatments are contemplated.

Can I see any before and after pictures surgery?

Before and after pictures are fascinating but are a poor guide to your personalised surgical outcome.

Many patients place their decision on these pictures but do not consider their anatomy and starting points or indeed the opinions of the patients in the after pictures as to whether they are indeed satifsfied with their results or even if they are true to life and realistic.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) rightly places certain restrictions on publishing before and after pictures on websites and social media. Therfore, Dr Rory has instead adopted a more informative approach.

After your individual consultation based on your particular concerns and anatomy, he will place you in contact with a similar previous patient advocate who can share their journey and outcomes with you.

After this, working together with Dr Rory on your unique anatomy, particular concerns and expectations will lead to the most powerful personalised ‘before and after’ experience.
